Short Take: Wedding sites tie the knot

Della.com, an online wedding gift registry, and WeddingChannel.com, a wedding content and services site, have merged to create a wedding planning and bridal registry resource. The new company--operating under the name WeddingChannel.com--will offer engaged couples and their guests wedding planning content, community and tools. The site will combine the wedding registries of several retailers such as Bloomingdale's, The Bon March?, Macy's, Tiffany, Crate and Barrel, Neiman Marcus, Williams-Sonoma, Dillard's, Restoration Hardware, REI and Gump's.

Short Take: Organic to rebuild department store Web sites

Internet consulting firm Organic said it won a contract to provide Web site design, engineering, strategy and customer fulfillment to Federated Department Stores, the owner of brand name stores, including Macy's, Bloomingdale's and The Bon Marche. San Francisco-based Organic said it will help rebuild the existing Web sites for Macys.com and Bloomingdales.com. The revamped sites are slated for launch later this year, Organic said. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
