Behind me, you'll see the Mercedes Benz S-Class Coupe.
Mercedes Benz brought this car to their Frankfurt Auto Show, the show of concept of what one of their big luxury coupes would look like.
This-- now, based on the S-Class, it's got a lot of the same underpinning technology, such they got the same engine, the 4.4-liter
bi-turbo, as we saw on the most recent S-Class.
And-- but it also has this coupe styling.
And this is concept-based.
What I like about this body is that Mercedes Benz didn't mess around with any kind of four-dour coupe thing.
This is a traditional two-door coupe, but very nicely styled.
There's some roomy back seats there, and it's got a really nice rear window, the black-- the back glass has a nice oval.
And it kind of meets the big panoramic sunroof over the top.
Looking on the inside, there are some definitely
concepty elements here.
It's got big metal panels in the doors that are kind of the speaker grill, but they flow all the way down the door's side.
One thing that's not necessarily a concept piece are the two 12.3-inch LCDs in the dashboard.
This has one for the instrument cluster, one for the center dash.
And that is exactly the same as they had in the Mercedes Benz S-Class.
But in this case, they sort of meet.
They kind of butt up against each other and form one long continuous flow.
Now, a really cool feature they have in here, one of signature
pieces, is some technology designed by Gracenote.
What this does, it's a way of selecting your music by mood.
So, the system analyzes all the music you have connected to your car and puts all the music-- every song assigned to the certain category, a certain mood.
And there's an interface that lets you slide along a touch panel from like slow to energetic.
And there's variations in between.
You could have somber, you could have-- I don't know, folk music.
Things like that.
It's all designed by mood.
This also will play through a Burmester sound system.
We heard that sound system in the new S-Class.
Amazing test and very high quality.
So, this will probably feature the same kind of luxury as the S-Class.
Now, of course, this is a concept, but it does point the way towards the Mercedes Benz new big coupe.
