Subaru redesigned its popular Outback model for the 2015 model year, slimming it down and borrowing styling from the XV Crosstrek.
Under the hood, buyers will have the option of a 2.5-liter four cylinder or a 3.6-liter six cylinder engine, both in flat, boxer-style format.
The grille, which has active shutters for better aerodynamics, looks similar to that on the XV Crosstrek model, while the headlights echo that of the new WRX.
Subaru lengthened the Outback slightly, creating more passenger room, but made it look more slim than the previous model.

As with the prior model, all-wheel-drive comes standard.
Subaru added what it calls Active Torque Vectoring, a handling feature found on the WRX, which brakes the inside front wheel in a corner slightly.
The redesign adds about a cubic foot of cargo area.
Subaru continues to refine its cabin amenities, adding more head unit features and an optional 16 speaker Harman Kardon audio system.
