Porsche's new 911 does more with less (pictures)

This is it: the 2017 Porsche 911!

From the outside, not a lot has changed.

But lurking beneath those rear fenders sit a pair of turbochargers.

Engines are now down to 3.0 liters, but power is up.

The base 911 now makes 365 horsepower, up from 345. The Carrera S is 414 horsepower, up from 395.

The car is also 10mm lower, and the rear wheels are 0.5 inch wider.

The inside of the car is familiar, but there have been a number of advancements, including CarPlay.

Seating is still for four -- and the rear seats are still cramped.

Under the skin is where you'll find the most advancement.

And here's the new motor, looking ready to burst out from between the rear wheels.

The motor is a dense package.

Here is the optional Sport exhaust, which has valves to provide extra noise when needed.

And, the turbocharger. This one is for the right bank. There's another on the left.

This is the new steering wheel, modeled after the Porsche 918's.

On the lower right is the Sport Response button, which gives you a 20-second burst of extra power.

This is the new infotainment system, running CarPlay.

Google Maps is also now integrated, with live updates.

Satellite imagery is pulled down automatically as you drive.
