Unlike the Scion and Subie, which have been criticized for being underpowered, Kia has retuned its 2.0-liter turbocharged direct-injected engine to output a massive 315 horsepower. On the other hand, the Toyobaru twins are real and this is just a concept.
315 horsepower may seem like yet another concept car claim, but chief designer at Kia Design Center America Tom Kearns states, "Our Optima racecars use the same engine and can produce more than 400 horsepower, so why not infuse our concept with the kind of power that will make people take notice?"
