Aston Martin 310 Vanquish (pictures)
Aston Martin announced the revival of its Vanquish model, an attractive grand tourer with extreme sport luxury characteristics.
The newest Aston Martin model revives the best model name in the automotive industry. The Vanquish replaces the DBS in the company's line-up and retains the grand tourer style. The Vanquish uses a 6-liter V-12, producing 565 horsepower. Aston Martin boasts a 183 mph top speed and zero-to-62 mph time of 4.1 seconds.
Showing an engineering leap forward, the Vanquish's body panels are all composed of carbon fiber. Aston Martin did not include the car's curb weight in the specifications, but does say the new Vanquish is 25 percent more rigid than the outgoing DBS.
Aston Martin mounts a six-speed automatic transmission at the rear axle. The Vanquish's adaptive suspension system includes three modes: Normal, Sport, and Track. It also has a launch control mode.
The Vanquish can be had in a 2+2 or 2+0 seating arrangement, the latter most likely leaving a cargo shelf behind the front seats. And at its $280,000 price tag, the cabin should exhibit the height of luxury.
From this interior photo, it looks like Aston Martin has improved its cabin tech interface. Instead of separate displays for radio and navigation, it looks like the interface is integrated into a flip-up LCD. Aston Martin says it uses Garmin navigation software, and the Vanquish also gets a 1,000 watt 15-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system.
