2017 Subaru Impreza
Subaru showed off a whole new generation of its Impreza at the New York auto show, in both sedan and hatchback formats.
The new Impreza will enter the market as a 2017 model either late this year or early in 2017.
As with most Subarus, the Impreza comes standard with all-wheel-drive.
The front end is less pronounced and lacks the frosted running lights in the headlight casings.
This example is in Sport trim, so it shows aero elements up front.
Under the hood, the Impreza will have a two-liter four-cylinder engine similar to the current model, but with horsepower increased to 152.
The Impreza can be had with a continuously variable transmission or a six-speed manual.
Running lights made up of LEDs are concealed in the front fascia.
These headlights lack the strong, angled form seen on the WRX.
With the extended length and an extra 1.5 inches of width, there should be plenty of cargo room.
In Sport trim, the Impreza gets a spoiler.
Subaru promises a new infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Subaru retains a hatchback version of the Impreza.
With the increases in width and length, the Impreza hatchback almost feels like a baby Outback.
The driveline specs are the same between the sedan and hatchback.
All-wheel-drive also comes standard with the hatchback.
This example, in Limited trim, includes all the options, and leather seating.
