2013 Infiniti G37 shows its age (pictures)
In its fifth model year, the G37 remains a solid driver, but it doesn't keep up with the connected features and fuel efficiency tech of the competition.
Infiniti offers its smallest premium sedan as the G25 or G37. This is the G37 in Journey trim, featuring Sport, Navigation, and Premium packages.
Over its five years, the G37 has seen little change in body style. The hood nestles neatly in between the front fenders while the roofline features a graceful curve toward the trunk.
The G37 is driven by this 3.7-liter V-6, generating 328 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque.
As a midsize premium sedan, the G37 seats five.
With the G37's sport-tuned suspension, the ride can be rough over bad sections of road.
The trunk runs deep, allowing for a good amount of cargo.
Leather, power-adjustable seats help give the car a premium feel.
The rear seats are relatively unadorned, and have somewhat limited legroom.
The optional navigation system adds the LCD in the center stack.
The G37 still uses hydraulically boosted power steering, where most automakers have gone to electric power steering to improve fuel economy.
A small display in the instrument cluster shows trip information, but lacks navigation or audio data.
Infiniti puts cabin tech controls on the left steering-wheel spoke.
This six-speed automatic transmission comes standard on the G37 sedan. A six-speed manual can be had on the Sport version.
Voice command covers all the cabin tech applications, but is somewhat limited in what it can do.
Navigation maps include some 3D-rendered buildings.
Route guidance show useful graphics to warn you of upcoming turns.
A virtual keyboard lets you input street addresses.
Weather forecasts come courtesy of XM Sirius Satellite Radio.
The Bluetooth streaming-audio interface shows track information when using an iPhone 5.
With an iPod cabled to the car's USB port, the music library shows up on the main LCD.
The iPod playback screen shows album art.
The rearview camera includes distance and trajectory lines.
