The third generation of the Toyota Sienna has debuted at the 2009 LA Auto Show sporting a new aesthetic that is similar to the Venza crossover.

The Sienna will be powered by either a 3.5-liter V6 that makes 266 horsepower with expected EPA-estimated mileage ratings of 18 mpg city/24 mpg highway or a 187 horsepower, 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers fuel efficiency ratings of 19 mpg city and 26 mpg on the highway.

Despite looking chunkier and obviously more spacious, the Sienna also has an aerodynamics-friendly drag coefficient of 0.306.

The Sienna's nose reflects Toyota's new design language, resembling at the same time the Venza and the Prius.

Inside, the Sienna's dashboad looks even more like the Venza with its asymmetrical layout, dash-mounted shifter, and tiny multi-information display located at the base of the windshield.

For the most part, the available cabin technology is nothing new for Toyota. We're still looking at a DVD-based navigation system with XM traffic and a 10-speaker JBL premium audio system with Bluetooth and iPod connectivity options.

The small multi-information display located at the top of the dashboard displays vehicle info such as fuel economy, climate controls, and various options menus.

Upper trim levels get these nifty electroluminescent gauges. However, entry trim levels will make due with more conventional backlit dials.

The Sienna can be configured with up to three rows of seating for up to eight passengers. To keep the riders quelled, Toyota has created a new rear seat entertainment solution.

The drop down monitor features a super wide 16.4-inch wide display that is actually composed of two smaller screens butted together seamlessly. When viewing a single source, you get sort of a Cinemascope ultra-wide image.

However, the screen can also be split for viewing two sources (such as the DVD player and the auxiliary video input).

The all-new 2011 Sienna will begin arriving at Toyota dealerships in February 2010.
