Nissan unveiled the Cube for the US market at the 2008 LA Auto Show. Though it's been available in Japan for some time now, we'll know soon enough whether American buyers are ready for the Cube when it hits showrooms as a 2009 model.
Nissan Cube reveal
Not to be overshadowed by the 370Z, the Cube is the most unconventional designs to come out of Nissan in some time.
Nissan Cube nose
The Cube has been described as a "bulldog in sunglasses". We can see how the analog was drawn.
Nissan Cube front
The Cube's is more than just an xB-alike, though it's upright stance and blocky profile is similar.
Nissan Cube side
The exterior's most striking feature is the wrap-around asymmetrical rear window.
Nissan Cube rear
The Cube's tail is slightly extruded pushing the tail lights out.
Nissan Cube rear
Cube features an easy-access refrigerator-style opening. Nissan claims it is possible to open or close it even if parked tight against other cars in parallel parking spaces or when backed in against a wall or other obstacle.
Nissan Cube interior
The interior of the Cube is unlike any other Nissan in the current lineup.
Nissan Cube interior
Nissan has used a repeating theme of concentric circles on the Cube's interior, as illustrated here on the center stack HVAC controls.
Nissan Cube interior
Here we see the concentric circle theme repeated in these ripples in the headliner. Nissan wanted to evoke rippling water to create a calming interior.
