Taking a cue from Uber and perhaps trying to shrug off its budget-minded preconceptions, Lyft is adding a new tier to its ridesharing service, which allows you to summon a private car via your smartphone. Called Premier, the new extension for the service will exclusively pick up customers in a "high-end sedan or SUV."

Lyft didn't make the complete list of which cars qualify as "high-end" available, but did call out the BMW 5 Series, Audi A6, Lexus ES and Cadillac Escalade as potential choices. I'd say those qualify.

Specific pricing isn't available for the new tier, but according to Refinery29 you'll be spending almost twice as much for these more posh accommodations. However, sign up now and Lyft will give you a coupon for 20 percent off your first 10 Premier rides. This way, you can be 100 percent fabulous while only spending 80 percent more.
