Genesis will have one of the best luxury-car warranties at launch

Hyundai's luxury offshoot is adding as many tangential benefits as possible to pull attention away from the more traditional brands.

Hyundai is finally nearing the point where it will unleash its Genesis luxury brand, and to help entice buyers it's loading its vehicles up with all manner of tangential benefits. It's touting a best-in-segment warranty, and loads of complimentary services that aim to ease buyers' burdens.

Whether you buy the large G90 (formerly known as the Hyundai Equus) or the not-as-large G80 (formerly known as Hyundai Genesis), you'll get a new-car warranty good for five years. The powertrain is covered for 10 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. The warranty also includes seven years of corrosion protection.

Owners will also receive three years of complimentary valet service. A Genesis representative can drive to the owner and leave them with a loaner while the car is whisked off for service. Speaking of service, the first three years (or 36,000 miles) of scheduled maintenance is also included -- that covers stuff like oil changes, air filters, oil filters, tire rotations and the like.

To paraphrase Billy Mays, "But wait, there's more!" Owners will also receive three free years of Genesis Connected Services. This includes app services that allow for remote unlocking and starting, and valet, speed and curfew alerts. It also covers automatic collision notification, emergency roadside assistance, on-demand diagnostics and online destination searches.

While these perks only apply to the G90 and the G80 at the moment, that's because Genesis still has more than a few models left to unveil. In time, these programs will be extended to all future Genesis models, as well.
