    Journalist by trade: one-woman band (camera/reporter/editor) Denver (KBTV,KUSA); NBC-TV editor - Burbank, San Salvador, Managua; Freelance in Peru; MacArthur Foundation $100,000 investigative journalism grant on Mycoherbicides against coca in Peru,; 8hrs short of MA in Journalism. Music background: grandmother, a concert pianist, my first piano teacher; BME (Music Education), MA Music History, 2-year Fulbright to Vienna, piano teacher at age 16. Personal: mechanic's daughter, Missouri Mule intense, eclectic, stubborn, live by Golden Rule, love learning, creating something new out of other stuff, teaching, helping others to learn.
  • Interests:
    1. Pushing Peruvian government to establish a Ministry of Learning (aka Tech)to give the enormous poor population a chance to get organized learning. 2. Implementing my UN-accepted proposal called "Connections" for establishing rural internet resource centers for agriculture to fruition via Peruvian government acceptance. Goal would then be to extend content beyond agriculture to health, education and "life" - i.e. self-help resources.
  • Tech Interests:
    Finding tech partner to develop a course-building program like Google's SketchUp to serve the poor which most commercial developers will not touch. The object is to make building a course at least tolerably easy enough so that educated folks with a heart would be able to create friendly, conversational,interesting courses tailored to people who have had little or no opportunity for a good education.
