    I teach those around me to use their computer like a computer instead of a typewriter. Personal credo, "always purchase and use effective software solutions, trial ware, freeware, etc., instead of MS products when possible. Despite my disdain for Microsoft, I enjoy using MS Access to create database programs for tracking large amounts of data, incorporating Switchboard menus to make them easy to use for non-savy users of MS Access. Learned to use Dbase 2.0 before I used a Word Processor.
  • Interests:
    I am disappointed with the lack of artificial intelligence (or even "faked" intelligence) in the 20 or so years I have been using computers. If a user browses to or saves data to a particular sub-directory 80% of the time, why can't the OS react?
  • Tech Interests:
    Digital photography with my Nikon D40, used to work for a studio in the 80s, did my own B&W/Color developing/processing. Enjoy productive software: 2xExplorer, Thumbs Plus, SyncBack Express, WinDates, Startup Control Panel, and DvdNeXtCopy.

    Compaq Presario 5940 (will upgrade to either dual core or a MAC to improve video encoding speed) with 1Gb RAM, WinXp SP2, ATI Readeon 9500, ATI All in Wonder, removable primary drive bay with several drives, and 500Gb secondary drive for data storage.
