LAS VEGAS -- Among the quartet of new smartphones that Lenovo showed off at the Consumer Electronics Show, the Lenovo S650 is the smallest.

Measuring 4.7 inches, the company positions this compact Android 4.2 handset as a budget pick. Although we don't have pricing or market availability yet, the phone's feature set almost entirely mirrors its siblings: the 6-inch S930 and 5-inch A859 .

The phone's 4.7-inch HD resolution screen (with a 960x540-pixel resolution) is its major differentiator. Otherwise, it shares the same slim, silver-colored design, 8-megapixel camera and 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor, and dual SIM card slot. You'll also find the familiar 8GB internal storage and 1GB RAM, plus the microSD card slot that can take up to 32GB in external storage.

Another change comes to the 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera, which is less than the 1.6-megapixel shooter seen on the A859 and S930. The S650 slips in a generous 2,000mAh battery. It goes on sale for $230 in January.
