Lenovo Essential B470 Intel Core i5-2410M review: Lenovo Essential B470 Intel Core i5-2410M

That Nvidia GeForce 410M GPU even helped a bit in our gaming tests. The otherwise similar Lenovo Essential G570 ran our Street Fighter IV test at the native resolution at 15.2 frames per second, while the 14-inch B470 ran the same test at the same resolution at 36.2 fps. It still won't do much for high-end, newer PC games, but for World of Warcraft, it should be fine.

Like the previously mentioned Essential B470, the Essential G570 isn't exactly a standout as far as battery life goes, but it did well for a budget midsize laptop. It ran for 4 hours and 36 minutes in our video playback battery drain test, which is about half an hour longer than the 15-inch version managed. Even better was the Gateway ID47H02u, which lasted 6 hours in the same test.

Lenovo includes a standard one-year parts-and-labor mail-in warranty with the Essential G570. Adding one year of in-home service is an extra $39. A three-year mail-in extension is $74, or $149 for three years of in-home service. These prices are listed as limited-time discounts, but are different (in some cases higher) than the discounted prices we saw last week, so the rates may be different when you check. Lenovo's support online resources are typically well-organized and easy to navigate, and the company's support phone lines are open 24-7.
