Griffin's upcoming magnetic USB-C power cable is a breakaway product

Griffin's BreakSafe USB-C Power Cable will be available this April for $40.

The smaller, faster and more powerful USB Type-C connector is expected to eventually become the standard USB cable.

With that in mind, in April of 2016 Griffin will ship its $40 BreakSafe Magnetic USB-C Power Cable, a 6-foot (2-meter) USB-C connector with a breakaway magnetic design that's similar in concept to Apple's MagSafe connector.

Griffin says its patented quick-release magnetic connector plugs into a laptop's USB-C port and safely disconnects from the rest of the cable "when put under stress or strain from incidents like tripping over the power cord."

UK and Australian pricing is not yet available, but $40 roughly converts to £25 or AU$55.
