Dell Latitude D620 series

The Dell Latitude D620 is the middle child in the business-focused Latitude brood, with a larger case than the ultraportable D410 yet a smaller one than the midsize D820. This laptop series ships exclusively with Intel's new Core Duo processors, ranging from 1.66GHz to 2.16GHz, though its other components are available in several different flavors. For example, main memory runs at either 533MHz or a superspeedy 667MHz and comes in increments starting at 512MB up to a colossal 4GB. Hard drives spin at 5,400rpm or an extrafast 7,200rpm and measure between 40GB and 100GB. Secondary optical storage options consist of CD, DVD, and DVD/CD-RW drives, along with double-layer DVD burners. The 14.1-inch wide-screen has a 1,280x800 or 1,440x1,050 native resolution, and though current models include only integrated Intel 950 graphics, future configurations will offer a discrete Nvidia Quadro NVS 110M option. Finally, wireless choices include Intel 802.11a/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and EV-DO WWAN cards. In our tests of the Latitude D620, the system's mobile performance improved over the D610's, though its battery life remained about the same.
