To stand out in the saturated tablet crowd a flashy feature or impeccable design is what's customary. The Alcatel Pixi 3 stands out for much simpler reasons -- the 8-inch tablet runs Windows 10 and also offers high-speed 4G cell functionality. Carriers and pricing are yet to be finalized, but according to Alcatel, who showed the device off at CES 2016, it'll be in the $200 (£135, AU$280) range in the US and available on its online store in the next few weeks. International availability has yet to be announced.

Aside from its operating system and on-the-go data capability, the Pixi 3 is an average tablet at best. Its white back is smooth with a polished sheen and felt pleasant. Unfortunately, the plastic construction makes it feel a bit cheap, like it wouldn't survive an accidental drop. Maybe that's because it actually will be a bit cheap. Check back for official pricing once announced.
