WD TV Live DH Media Player photos

Western Digital announced Tuesday the upgrade to its popular WD TV with a network port, the ability to support DTS HD sound, and a faster processor.

The new WD TV Live has the same physical size and shape as the previous model, the WD TV. The new device also support two USB external hard drives. It has one HDMI port and it supports composite video output and digital sound output.

The front of the new WD TV Live look slightly different from the old WD TV; the logos are moved to the top of the device.

It also has a second USB port on the side, next to the reset button.

On the back, there's a 10/100 Ethernet port, allowing the WD TV Live to hook up to the Internet and receive online content, such as from YouTube or Flickr.

The new WD TV Live shares the same remote control as the old WD TV. The compact remote's buttons don't offer a very good tactile feedback and it feels rather cheap.

The WD TV Live works very well with YouTube, where you can browse for the top favorites, search for particular videos, or sign in to your account to view your personal picks.

And you can also do similar things with Flickr photos.

The new WD TV Live can also reach out to other devices in the network to look for digital content.

It handles videos very well, especially hi-def content such as DiVx or Mastroka. The device can also play different soundtracks and display subtitles.
