More privacy for your smartphone
The Vysk QS1 smartphone case secures your personal data at a hardware level, via a processor built right into its frame. Though Vysk could only provide prototypes, the case will be ready for pre-orders beginning May 15 and will cost $229.

Requires an app and a monthly fee
To make a secure VoIP call, users will be required to download the Vysk QS app. They will also need to subscribe to the company's encrypted privacy calling network at $9.95 a month.

Keeping your calls private
Vysk claims that no one will be able to listen into your calls, or gather any call information -- including the identity of the caller or receiver, the numbers involved, or the time of the call.

Covering up the cameras
The QS1 has another privacy feature called "lockdown mode," which physically blocks your front and rear-facing camera lenses with two sliding covers.

Toggle switch to block the lenses
To cover the camera lens, users can slide the toggle on the top edge. (Again, the unit shown here is a prototype, and will look different in the final product). This toggle prevents anyone from actually seeing anything through your cameras if they were to be remotely accessed. Lockdown also jams all the handset's microphones.
