As its name applies, Verizon's Power House in Bryant Park in Manhattan is a place where visitors can drop off their phones and mobile devices for a quick charge. Visitors are greeted with this sign as they enter and register with info like their favorite NFL team.
The installation is really just a massive tent that sits on top of Bryant Park in Manhattan. That large structure, which greets you as you walk past the registration area, actually covers the park's fountain. Along all four sides are large digital displays touting Verizon and the connected, digital life.
Verizon brought in special antennas to deliver LTE and focused the multicast to devices in a single room. Verizon said it can customize just how many people get video based on location and time with pinpoint accuracy.
Using an Xbox Kinect, visitors can pose in front of a green screen and control a digital avatar of a football player on the TV screen in front of them. You can "catch" a pass and perform a signature touchdown dance.
