The official Twitter apps for iPhone and iPad recently got updated. We take a look at their refreshed interfaces and features, as well as the brand-new Profile page.

Home news feed

Every time you open up the Twitter app, your timeline starts you off at the last tweet you read. Tap the Home button to quickly jump to the top.

The Discover tab shows you relevant stories (based on your connections), an activity stream, trending hash tags, and more.

Connect with your Tweeps

The Connect tab shows you your mentions and helps you keep track of when others retweet or begin following you.

Compose a tweet

With the global Compose button, you can fire off a tweet from anywhere in the app. The interface then makes it easy to add pictures, mention other users, and geotag your content.

Twitter for iPad expands tweets inline and shows snippets of content from links to partner sites.
