Only 50 examples of the Lexus LFA Nurburgring Edition will be built, so show-goers at SEMA 2012 had to be extra careful not to bump the track-ready supercar. Compared with the standard LFA, the Nurburgring Edition features 10 more horsepower from its V-10 engine, sharper shifts from its electronic transmission, and styling inspired by the LFA prototype race car that competed in the 24 Hours of Nurburgring.
Five Axis modified the LS with a custom aero conversion that merges with the vehicle's L-Finesse design and pushes it in an even more aggressive direction. Of course, Five Axis is also known for its wheels, so this LS rides on custom 22-inch alloys with staggered widths.
This orange and black beast competed in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. It features race prepped exhaust, brake, and suspension components, a full roll cage, carbon fiber aero upgrades, and 18-inch staggered rims. The 5.0-liter, V-8 engine? Bone stock.
Meanwhile, over at Toyota's booth, the automaker was doing its best to inject some fun into its line of vehicles starting with the all-new 2013 Avalon. This TRD Edition was handed over to Toyota Racing Division for some performance upgrades.
The Avalon Hybrid wasn't spared the TRD treatment, being augmented with lowering springs and upgraded shocks, stiffer suspension bushings, big brakes, and 19-inch wheels with a three-stage paint job that's likely better than your car's.
Power upgrades to the 2.5-liter Hybrid Synergy Drive system are nonexistent, but the Hybrid does get a full visual upgrade that includes tinted head- and taillights with blue accents and a custom interior.
Inside, this Prius features a pair of small LCDs ahead of the driver that display video from the rear cameras where the wing mirrors should be. The dashboard ahead of the passenger seat is occupied by a 17-inch touch-screen Windows 7 PC, and the seatbacks house a pair of 12-inch tablets.
This "Rowdy Edition" Toyota Camry focuses on performance with its Detroit Speed Inc. custom dual exhaust and lowering springs. The customizer also supplied a custom wide body kit to accommodate the wider 18-inch wheels and BF Goodrich Sport Comp tires. Custom front splitter, rear diffuser, and front and rear belly pans should help keep this Camry stable at speeds well above the stock maximum.
"Dragquoia" features a supercharged and intercooled version of the Sequoia's 5.7-liter V-8 that now outputs over 650 horsepower. The rest of the vehicle receives upgrades to deal with the demands of living a quarter mile at a time.
