The Elgato Thunderbolt Dock connects to your MacBook over Thunderbolt, adding a whole bunch of extra ports.
It's available in the UK now at the Apple Store for £180 and will be making its way to the wider world soon for a yet to be announced amount.
From the front, it's a very minimalist affair.
Around the back is where the magic happens. Look at all those ports!
You'll get three USB 3.0 ports in total, along with two Thunderbolt ports.
HDMI and Ethernet are on board too, so you won't need to have multiple adaptors and dongles hanging off your sleek MacBook Air.
There are dedicated headphone and microphone jacks, allowing you to actually monitor your recording -- something you can't do with the MacBook's combined audio jack.
It's a fairly compact chap.
It'll sit neatly next to a MacBook Air.
Go ahead and plug in your monitor, Internet cable, external hard drives, phones and tablet. The USB ports are powered so they can charge up iPads nice and quickly.
When you arrive at the office, you only need to plug in the dock to make use of all your devices.
In theory, it could help neaten up desk space by not having loads of wires plugging into every available port on your MacBook.
It has a matte metal shell that matches the MacBook design.
There are certainly worse looking things you can have sat on your desk. Though there are cheaper things too.
