With 1,200 lumens of light output at a color temperature just below 3,000K, the Nanoleaf Bloom is a worthy 75W replacement.

It's also one of the most efficient bulbs we've ever tested, putting those 1,200 lumens out using just 10 watts.

When you first turn the bulb on, it'll dim up to full brightness over the course of a few seconds. Interrupt this fade at any time by flicking the switch off then on again in rapid succession, and the bulb will pause the fade, locking in that specific level of light. Just like that, you've dimmed the light without using a dimmer.

The Nanoleaf Bloom comes with either an Edison-style screw-in base (pictured above) or a B22, bayonet-style base. It's rated for use with voltages ranging from 100V to 240V.

Double flicking the switch while the light is on will send the light dimming back down, which you can interrupt again to lock in a new light level.

You can also run the Nanoleaf Bloom in "Night Mode," which locks the bulb in at the bottom of its dimmable range. A nerdy night light, perhaps?

Nanoleaf's Kickstarter campaign has already blown past its goal with weeks to spare. You'll need to pledge at least $40 (roughly AU$45, or £25 in the UK) if you want one of these bulbs for yourself.
