A maxed out display

The Motorola Droid Maxx's 5-inch screen uses OLED technology for vividly saturated colors and high-contrast. Its 720p resolution lacks the pixel count of full HD 1020p displays though.

Kevlar fiber kung-fu grip

Not many controls

The Motorola Droid Maxx only has physical controls on its right side, a volume bar plus a power key. Both are conveniently cross-hatched for extra texture.

On the bottom lip of the Motorola Droid Maxx is its micro USB port, right where it aught to be.

A booming speaker

The Maxx features a large speaker on the back which gets pretty darn loud, louder than the HTC One's BoomSound external audio system.

This camera is streamlined

With the same paired-down camera app on the Moto X and Droid Ultra, the Maxx's shooter snaps pics using a simplified settings menu.
