This is the year of Bluetooth speakers at CES 2013, flooding the show with portable speakers in every shape, size, and color.
HMDX Jam Classic
LAS VEGAS--Yes, it looks like a jar of jam, but it's actually a Bluetooth speaker. While the Jam Classic actually came out in 2012, HMDX is releasing a larger model, dubbed the Jam Classic Plus in the spring for $60.
Not every Bluetooth speaker is pint-size. Polk Audio's gorgeous Woodbourne features a mahogany wood veneer top and supports both Bluetooth and AirPlay. It will set you back quite at bit at $600, so looks this good don't come cheap.
Pure showed off its colorful collection of Bluetooth speakers at CES Unveiled on Sunday night. The British company is trying to break into the streaming-audio market and showed off the jumbo Jongo T640B, which is designed to be the main speaker in your living room.
The Samsung DA-F60 is the company's first entrant to the booming portable Bluetooth speaker market, and it can also double as a sound bar with compatible Samsung TVs. It also has NFC, making for easier pairing with phones that support it.
Most of the Bluetooth speakers on display are compact, but Sony's Bluetooth Boombox is throwback to the larger minisystems that used to be more popular. In addition to Bluetooth, it packs NFC pairing and a digital AM/FM tuner.
