Sony Ericsson Xperia X2

As the successor to the Xperia X1, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 offers several upgrades over the X1, such as a slighter larger touch screen, Windows Mobile 6.5, and a better camera.

It is a quad-band GSM smartphone with support for AT&T's 3G bands. Other features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS.

Panel interface

What sets the Xperia models apart from other Windows devices is its interactive panel interface that gives you instant access to the apps you use most and can be customized to your lifestyle. The Xperia X2 comes preloaded with 14 panels and there are 16 others available for download, including those for Skype, CNN, and Google.

Sony Ericsson also added something called the SlideView feature that notifies users to missed calls or new messages and provides quick access to them.

Design

The overall design of the Xperia X2 looks the same as its predecessor. It has a candy bar shape that slides open to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard. However, the X2 doesn't quite have the solid construction of the Xperia X1, and though it's lighter, it did feel a bit plasticky to us.

QWERTY keyboard

The Xperia X2's full QWERTY keyboard is pretty easy to use with good-size buttons and a nice layout.

Upgraded camera

The Xperia X2 gets a huge bump in the camera department, going from 3.2 megapixels to 8.1 megapixels. The camera has up to 16x digital zoom, auto focus, image stabilization, geo-tagging, and video recording capabilities.
