New features in this model include control and scheduling via iOS and Android app, as well as a third set of wheels for better traction.

The LawnBott navigates partly through GPS and a series of grass-detecting sensors, but you also need to bury a guide wire around the perimeter of area you want it to mow.

The third row of gear-like wheels is new in this model, and is supposed to over improved traction on wet grass.

The LawnBott LB75DX, pictured here, is an older model that lacks app support and the third row of wheels, among other things. The two can share a charging station and guide wire, set up. They will both return to the station automatically when their batteries run low.

All LawnBotts offer onboard controls, but they're not as slick as the app-based interface.

The LB75DX model is designed to mow a quarter acre. The LB85EL will mow up to just under three-quarters of an acre. Both units will require multiple passes to mow an entire lawn, though, so there's no way around interacting with the scheduling function.

You can adjust the cutting height of the LawnBott's 12-inch blade to between 0.75 and 2.8-inches.

The blade is also reversible, so you can extend its life, and user replaceable for when you want a new one.
