Slight alteration, big gain in comfort (pictures)

The all new HTC One Mini squeezes in almost all of the larger HTC One's impressive capabilities and luxurious metal design.

More compact, better grip

The HTC One Mini is small, yet it clings to the HTC One's premium style. Its slightly more compact stature compared with the full-size HTC One also translates into a chassis that is easier to manage.

Smaller yet similar

On paper, the One Mini isn't all that much smaller than the HTC One, but when you hold both phones together, the difference is striking.

An aluminum backing

The HTC One Mini features a back side that's constructed from classy aluminum, just like the HTC One. It also uses an almost identical imaging system.

A sleek profile

The HTC One Mini keeps a trim profile. On its right side are tiny volume controls.

Sorry, no IR blaster

The One Mini uses plastic around its edges, not aluminum. HTC also did away with the IR blaster that doubles as a power button, a trait the HTC One boasts.

A smaller, more comfortable size

The smaller size makes the One Mini much more comfortable to hold in one hand

Forward-facing speakers

The ports for the 'Boom Sound' speakers still sit above and below the screen.

Also made in black

The HTC One Mini comes in hues of traditional silver and "stealth" black.

A white plastic edge

The polished metal edge has been replaced with a white plastic band.

A very capable camera

The One Mini's camera app offers the same essential features such as HDR mode, panorama, color filters, and Zoe highlights. The phone lacks the One's optical image stabilization, though.

USB on the bottom

On the bottom lip of the HTC One Mini you'll find its Micro-USB port. It looks to be inverted as well like on the bigger HTC One.

A 4-megapixel camera

The One Mini packs the same 4-megapixel -- or 'Ultrapixel', as HTC calls it -- camera.
