Skirt sashays with 80 Nokia Lumia smartphones (pictures)

Nokia has partnered with fashion duo Fyodor Golan to create a skirt made out of 80 Lumia smartphones.

Smartphone fashion

Nokia has created a skirt made from 80 of its Lumia smartphones in collaboration with design duo Fyodor Golan and creative agency Kin for London Fashion Week.

Lighting up the catwalk

It's exactly as daft as it sounds.

Fashion in motion

The phones display patterns which apparently swirl in time with the motion of the poor model wearing the no-doubt hefty garment.

Smart skirt

Nokia reckons the skirt "explores the possibilities of smart technology and fashion." No arguments there.

On the catwalk

She doesn't exactly look thrilled to be wearing it.

A hefty skirt

Two burly chaps had to assist the lady as she departed from the catwalk -- presumably because the skirt weighs rather a lot more than normal clothes.

On display

I suggested that Nyan Cat, zipping round and round the skirt would be brilliant to watch. Nobody seemed to agree.

Fashion crowds

Lots of people from the fashion world turned up to see the skirt. I'm not sure if they were glad they made the journey through the pouring rain or not.

iPads as cameras

It wasn't the only technology around. Later on, during Fyodor Golan's proper fashion show, iPads were being used as cameras. Nobody batted an eye.

Tech and fashion

It's one way to make a statement, I suppose.

'The Matrix,' anyone?

Here's some fashion from the regular Fyodor Golan range. Apparently "The Matrix" is set to make a big comeback.

So are refuse bags.

More fashion

And whatever this is.

Pretty in pink

He doesn't look too chuffed to be wearing a fluffy, lurid pink sweater, but the shades really add an element of cool.
