Eat this 'Alien' dessert at your own risk

Baker, model and photographer Christine McConnell makes the kind of pastries and desserts you shouldn't turn your back on. Her spider samoasDanzig cake and waffle cone tentacle monster may be made with sugar, butter and everything else that makes desserts desirable, but we wouldn't blame you for having second thoughts about taking a taste.

Also, be careful who you serve her "Alien" face-hugger cookies to. They might scare Santa into a heart attack.

Eat this Cthurkey before it eats you!

After binging on turkey, mashed potatoes, puddings, cakes and your body weight in cookies during the holidays, the last thing you want to ponder is a dinner that looks like it could kill you in a cage fight.

Meet Cthurkey. Rusty Eulberg and his wife Jennifer Robledo wanted to add something a bit more adventuresome to their Christmas dinner spread, so they created this edible Elder God made from bacon, crab, octopus and turkey.

There's always room for Millennium Falcon Jell-O

Whip up this "Star Wars" Millennium Falcon in Jell-O using Knox gelatin, condensed milk, black gel dye and Kotobukiya's Millennium Falcon silicone tray and tips from food blogger JustJennrecipes.

"I make a lot of 'Star Wars' food and when I do it I like to stay true to the movies as much as possible," Jenn says. "I want the food to be a true fan experience. So when I saw the Millennium Falcon mold, I'd seen it used with ice and chocolate but I felt like the best thing to do would be do make it a true ship color gray. I figured that Jell-O would be the best material to get that color and all the fine details."

We are Groot cookies!

Pay tribute to Groot from Marvel's movie "Guardians of the Galaxy" this holiday season with Groot Cookies, also from JustJenn Recipes. Jenn from the JustJenn Recipes food blog explains how to make the mindful tree-like creature into a yummy brown sugar cookie compete with chocolate bark and matcha powder green foliage.

"I always thought Groot deserved more of the limelight, he was always by Rocket's side," Jenn tells Crave. "I guess I wasn't the only one who felt that way because now that everyone's seen 'Guardians of the Galaxy,' turns out they made him into the heart of the movie! I thought cookies were a great way to celebrate all things Groot. Let's face it, cookies are my way of celebrating everything."
