Scout takes home security customization seriously, but its lack of third-party integrations could hold it back.
Scout is a highly customizable DIY security system.
It comes with a hub that connects to your router. This is a required purchase.
However, the rest of the accessories you choose are up to you.
The Scout Hub is powered by an adapter and connects to your router via an Ethernet cable, but Scout's sensor accessories are all battery-powered.
The Door Panel accessory has built-in RFID capabilities.
That way, you can arm and disarm the system with the Scout key fobs and an additional RFID sticker.
The Access Sensor is a smaller version of the Door Panel and can be attached to doors, windows, drawers and more.
Scout also offers a motion sensor with a 20-foot range.
