Dragon Con

There's a lot of costume play (also known as cosplay) going on at Dragon Con, a massive multi-genre convention held yearly in the southeast US, but there's a lot more to the show then just people in outfits posing for pictures. We've spent several galleries displaying various jaw-dropping and amusing cosplay outfits from video games, cartoons, comic books, and other geeky avenues of entertainment, but this gallery looks at some special moments that occur during the show. We've also sprinkled in some other interesting off-key captures, crowd shots, and other fun pictures that didn't precisely fit in with our previous galleries. Click on through the gallery to see everything from Billy Dee Williams (better known as Lando Calrissian) to superhero love and other special moments from one of the geekiest conventions in the world.

Don't miss our extensive gallery of geeky costumes from the first day of Dragon Con. We followed up with another massive pictorial of even more amazing cosplay outfits from the other days of the show, too.

Neverending crowd

This picture, shot from the second floor of the Marriott Marquis in Atlanta, shows just how crowded a Dragon Con walking area can get during prime time.

Lando Calrissian

Billy Dee Williams, who played Lando Calrissian in "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back," looks over at the camera after concluding a discussion panel on the movie and his involvement with the franchise. Stay tuned for a post that talks more about his comments during the incredibly candid conversation.

Batman and Robin, the later years

While wandering the halls of Dragon Con, I couldn't help but stop after seeing this unique Batman and Robin duo taking a rest during the show. The caped crusaders, portrayed by Andrew Tischler and Brent Wright, happily agreed to a photo.

Han and Leia

People portraying Han Solo and Princess Leia Organa eat dinner after a busy day at Dragon Con. The Han works at a nearby bar in Atlanta called the Diesel Filling Station, but he didn't meet Leia there.

A sea of people

It's hard to explain the calamity of Dragon Con as people move about five massive hotels checking out all of the discussion panels, events, costumes, and other wackiness going on at the show.

Some warriors prefer escalators

A group of heathens from the Middle Ages (or perhaps the J.R.R Tolkien universe) descend an escalator would normally disrupt any social situation, but it's just another random moment seen at Dragon Con.

Star Wars style

Even though "Star Wars" costumers often seek movie-accurate outfits, Dragon Con also hosted many unique variations of the famous garb seen in the films. Meet DJ Boba Fett, the black and gold stormtrooper, and Lady Boba Fett.

Uh huh, uh huh

A couple of Yip Yips, a famous Martian duo from Sesame Street, descend onto Dragon Con. I happened to capture this unique moment when they looked at one another after being surprised by a passerby's comment.
