Projector Hotspot from ZTE
LAS VEGAS -- Though pricing and exact dates remain unknown for the Projector Hotspot, ZTE confirmed that its projector/hotspot hybrid will launch in the US by the end of 2014.
Compact in size
Physically, the square-shaped device measures a little less than 5x5 inches and weighs 0.88 pound.
Familiar Android UI
On top is a 4-inch colored touch screen, which has a 800x480-pixel resolution. Below that are hot keys that control the Hotspot Projector. These flush buttons include the familiar Back, Home, and Settings keys that are common on Android handsets.
Beaming 120-inch images
The hotspot projector can beam 120-inch images and videos on nearby surfaces, and has 1080p input support.
LTE data speeds for eight
The hotspot's OS is based on Android 4.2, and up to eight users can connect to its 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi network with 4G LTE data speeds. A 5,000mAh battery inside keeps the unit chugging along, and it also has a headset jack for audio output.
HDMI support too
Because the unit can also charge other smartphones and tablets, there is a USB port on the back of the device. There's also a headset jack for audio output and an HDMI port, so you can connect your gaming consoles and project your games as well.
