In case you didn't know, Samsung is the world's largest maker of TVs. And CES is the world's largest technology trade show. As you'd expect, the company released a lot of TVs at CES. Here's a few, as well as a look at the 2013 Smart TV suite and Evolution Kit.

The company is also launching a bunch of vanishingly thin LED sets, like the high-end F8000, seen here in profile.

Here's the F8000 from the front. The semicircular stand is particularly daring, and the bezel razor-thin, creating that all-picture look.

The F8000 and a few of the other sets have a built-in camera for voice and gesture control, and this year it can be popped back down when not in use.

The company's sole high-end plasma is the F8500 series, which gets its own very distinctive design, along with a bunch of picture quality improvements.

Samsung's Smart TV suite (video) is completely new, and based on a series of five screens -- a bit like the home screens of a smartphone.

The first screen includes a recommendation engine that tries to divine what you want to watch based on your viewing habits. It can pick from the current TV programming of your cable or satellite provider.

The second offers cross-platform search among supported video-on-demand partners, which currently include Netflix, Blockbuster, Cinema Now, Samsung's Media Hub, and Vudu. No Amazon or Hulu Plus yet.

The third panel gathers all your local media, whether from DLNA sources, connected smartphones or tablets, or plugged-in USB media. The fourth (not shown) is a social interface for, yes, tweeting from your TV.

Just plug the module (price TBD) into the back of a compatible 2012 Samsung TV and it will upgrade to the new Smart TV interface, complete with a faster processor and more memory. The company also throws in the latest, improved version of its touch remote control.
