Samsung S9C curved-OLED TV looks wheely good on London Eye (pictures)

Here's Samsung's S9C curved-OLED TV, on sale in the US and UK, and seen here nestled inside a typical British living room massive Ferris wheel overlooking the river Thames.

US readers, meet the London Eye, the biggest Ferris wheel in Europe, offering spectacular views of the moody British capital, and -- for us -- a detailed look at Samsung's first curved-OLED television. And yes, the weather is always like this.

This is a 55-inch panel, set inside a metal frame. And yes, the Thames really is that color.

Big Ben looks on enviously as we ogle the organic light-emitting diode panel, which produces a truly gorgeous contrast ratio, and some stunning images.

The jury's out on whether curved TVs are the future of home entertainment -- our tests have revealed a bit of distortion around the curved edges.

This TV will cost you $9,000, or 7,000 pounds in the UK. Best start saving now, folks!

It does come with a Webcam though. That's a blurry London bus in the background, sightseeing-fans.

Here's a close-up of the built-in camera. Your Skype calls will never have looked so good.

If you're in front of the S9C, the curve is less noticeable, but get up close to the edges and you can really see the bend. The OLED panel itself is -- as you can see -- also quite reflective, so you'll want a dark room for the best viewing experience.

We were dead impressed with the picture quality. Photos don't do OLED justice, so see if you can find this model in your local electronics emporium to take a look for yourself.

This TV employs Samsung's Multi View tech, which lets two people, each wearing special glasses, watch different programs at the same time. Sounds like a rather lonely experience, but hey -- it could come in handy.

OLED TVs are still very expensive, but will likely drop in price over the next few years, making it easier to acquire one. Rivals LG and Sony are also getting heavily involved with OLED.

Samsung recently showed off an OLED TV with a 4K screen prototype, though this one musters only the usual 1,080p resolution.
