Samsung Impression
As a messaging phone the Impression has a distinct profile.
The Impression offers a truly brilliant display. Samsung's TouchWiz interface allows for some customization, but not much.
The volume rocker and a shortcut control rest on the Impression's left side.
The Impression's camera lens rests on its rear side next to a speaker.
The Impression has a virtual dialpad for making calls.
The Impression has a comfortable, solid feel in the hand. The icon-based menu interface is intuitive and easy to use.
The Impression is rather large, but it travels well.
The keybaord is pretty spacious and tactile, though we wish it had more shortcut options. All you get is a dedicated messaging button and arrow keys for navigation. When the display is open, the TouchWiz widgets appear in landscape mode.
We're also not sure why you would want to use the virtual QWERTY keyboard. But, it's there if you want it.
The Impression's menu screen rotates as you open the keyboard.
The Impression offers a calendar application.
We'd prefer a flash on a 3-megapixel camera phone.
