Samsung Droid Charge

The Samsung Droid Charge is Verizon's second 4G smartphone, following the HTC ThunderBolt, so now you have a choice in handsets. However, the Droid Charge is pretty expensive at $299.99 on contract.

Features

The Droid Charge runs Android 2.2.1 with Samsung TouchWiz UI and features a beautiful 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus, a 1GHz Hummingbird processor, an 8-megapixel camera, and mobile hot-spot capabilities.

Design

The Samsung Droid Charge is a bit of a beast, measuring 5.11 inches tall by 2.66 inches wide by 0.46 inch thick. At least, it's pretty light at 5.04 ounces, but we wish Samsung would add a soft-touch finish to the back to make the plastic less slick-feeling.

Camera

The Droid Charge is equipped with an 8-megapixel camera with flash. It can also record 720p HD video and comes with a healthy set of editing options and camera tools. In addition to the rear-facing camera, there's a 1.3-megapixel camera on the front for video calls.

Picture quality

The camera took excellent photos with great detail. It even did a decent job with pictures taken in dimly lit rooms.
