We recently got a chance to go on the most amazing off-road adventure in the 2011 Range Rover and the 2011 LR4. Both vehicles have had minor tuning to their engines to make them more efficient, and they received a bit of a face-lift. But how well the do the Range Rover and LR4 do in the great outdoors?
The 2011 Range Rover has a comfortable ride and precision handing; even on the narrow trails of the San Juan Mountain Range of Colorado.
The 2011 LR4's new terrain-response controls help the driver negotiate the severe slopes found on off-road trails such as those at Imogene Pass, Colorado.
The 2011 Range Rover, powered by a 5.0-liter, 510 horsepower supercharged V-8 engine, has no problem negotiating steep slopes and tight turns off-road.
The LR4 has an off-road ground clearance of a little more than 9 inches and a wading depth of about 27 inches.
With Hill Start Assist and Gradient Acceleration Control technology, driver can take on tough slopes and narrow trails with confidence.
The 2011 Range Rover is available with 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V-8 engine that produces 375 horsepower and 375 pound-feet of torque, or 5.0-liter Supercharged V-8 with 510 horsepower and 461 pound-feet of torque.
