Photos: Yellowstone wildlife
A quick look at some of the wildlife that thrives in Yellowstone National Park, as seen by CNET News reporter Daniel Terdiman on Road Trip 2009.
Bison in Yellowstone
During Road Trip 2009, I visited Yellowstone National Park to see the park's abundance of geothermal activity--beyond Old Faithful. But I also got a peek at a little of the wildlife.
Here, a lone bison wanders through the woods alongside one of the park's main roads. Bison, which look peaceful and contemplative, are known to be extremely unpredictable and dangerous, and Yellowstone visitors are warned not to approach them.

Bull elk
Unusually, this bull elk was quietly foraging alongside two other large males.

Crow holding court
In the Old Faithful parking lot, this crow and several others were holding court, making sure everyone knew who was in charge.
