The Sony NW-S705F Walkman uses a color OEL display that requires very little power. The screen may be a little dim, and its type is fairly scrawny--but it was a welcome trade-off for 50 hours of battery life. Read full review

There aren't a lot of buttons or dials on the NW-S705F to restrict jamming it in your pocket. The display also shows you the time and date in an interesting way (here showing 2:40). Read full review

In this shot, you can see the NW-S705F's scroll wheel peeking out the front and back of the body. Though it's hard to make out, the headphone jack is pointing straight toward you in the center of this photo. An extra notch is built into the minijack connection to fit the proprietary headphones used by the player to generate active noise-cancellation. Read full review

Though Sony's included earphones look a bit odd, we found they gave an adequate fit for most ears and provided above-average sound quality compared to the earbuds included with most players. The holes found on the outside of the earphones conceal tiny microphones used to monitor ambient noise levels necessary for the player's active noise-cancellation feature. Read full review

Here's a sidelong view of the Sony NW-S705F MP3 Walkman. You can see the display/menu button on the side and the hold switch in profile on the bottom of the player. The overall design of the NW-S705F reminded me of a futuristic, robot-squid head (especially when the earphones are attached). Read full review
