Photos: Sebring Convertible San Francisco tour

While testing out the 2008 Chrysler Sebring Limited Convertible, we really enjoyed the view out of the open top. So we took our photographer along for a tour of San Francisco landmarks.

We set out from our offices in the 2008 Chrysler Sebring Limited Convertible. CNET headquarters in San Francisco has a nice glass-and-brick facade. We use the front plaza for car video shoots occasionally.

Heading down Second Street, we get a good view of the Financial District's urban canyons over the front windshield of the Sebring.

We swung down the Embarcadero, where our photographer got this picture of the Bay Bridge's first tower. This bridge stretches across the bay between San Francisco and Oakland.

The Ferry Building sits at the end of Market Street, on the Embarcadero. Before the 1989 earthquake, this view would have been obscured by a freeway running along the bay.

One of the most notable buildings in the San Francisco skyline is the pyramid-shaped Transamerica building. We got right under it in the Sebring.

San Francisco's monument to its firefighters, Coit Tower sits atop Telegraph Hill. We got this shot while cruising through North Beach.

We found these cable cars near Fisherman's Wharf, waiting to get on the turnaround and go back up the hill. Cable cars are a useful part of San Francisco's public transportation network.

We cruised by the base of the twisty part of Lombard Street, getting this picture. We didn't really want to get caught in the tourist cars driving down it.

Looking down the hill from Lombard Street, we have a good view of the old Alcatraz prison, sitting in the middle of the San Francisco Bay.

Our final stop on the tour is our lovely, fog-enshrouded Golden Gate Bridge. The best view of the bridge, with our Sebring Convertible, is from underneath, at Fort Point. This fort was built to protect the bay from invading ships, but never fired a shot in anger.
