Though the E1 lacks a lens cover, its watertight construction provides a sealed enclosure for the lens.
Thankfully, the E1's power and playback switches are self-explanatory, because their labels are unreadable unless viewed at an extreme angle. These buttons tend to retain some moisture underneath after submersion, even when dried post-dunking.
Although the buttons for the E1 are organized in a logical manner, they're either too small, too hard to press, or both. The zoom switch is especially hard to use without accidentally hitting the mushy Set button inset in the middle. And I frequently found the camera never registered my press on the shutter button to take a photo.
