The Psystar Open Computer arrives.
The packing material is nowhere near as polished as Apple's, but it's also no worse than that of a typical small desktop vendor.
You get the system and an accessories bag, that's it.
The accessories include manuals and software for the motherboard and graphics card, as well as a handful of video output and IDE cables. No mouse or keyboard.
Between the peanuts and the plastic foam braces, the Open Computer was packed well enough.
The front panel has two 5.25-inch bays, and one 3.5-inch bay. Our review unit came with a single DVD burner.
The Open Computer has two audio ports and a pair of USB 2.0 ports on the lower half of front panel. It doesn't have a media card reader.
The decidedly PC-looking back panel has a typical array of ports. It doesn't have eSATA or FireWire.
Inside it looks like any other low-end midtower desktop. You can add a hard drive or two, as well as a few more expansion cards. However, you only get two RAM slots and both of ours were filled.
