The newest Razr2 V8 rolls out the bling with 18-karat and 24-karat gold-plated accents on a black slate finish. Other design touches include pinstripes on the front face and engraved patterns. It may sound like a bit much, but you have to admit it's eye-catching. And good news, the lovely, and large, external display hasn't gone away.
The gold accents are visible inside the phone as well. As for features, the handset offers Bluetooth, a 2-megapixel camera, quadband GSM world phone support, Moto's CrystalTalk technology, a full HTML browser, and Windows Media Player 11.
The Moto U9 sports a streamlined flip-phone design based on the Motorola Pebl U6. But the U9 sports a glossier finish and a larger external display. Inside are stereo Bluetooth, a microSD card slot, Moto's Crystal Talk technology, a 2-megapixel camera, and quadband GSM world phone support. There's also a music player, which you can activate with the external controls. The U9 comes in a bright pink version for those who want to make a statement.
For more subdued tastes, the U9 also comes in black. But in either case, we're really excited to see the new "Spinner" user interface. Moto has needed a new menu design for a long time.
The Moto W377 is a simple phone designed mostly for making calls. It offers a VGA camera, but other features are limited to an FM radio, messaging, a speakerphone, and basic organizer applications. Besides pink, the GSM handset comes in silver and black.
The W377's interior somewhat resembles the Motorola Krzr. The black model of the W377 is pictured here.
The Moto W175 is a low-end candy-bar model presumably destined for developing markets. The GSM handset offers basic calling and messaging features, but it includes text in seven African languages. The W180, which features the same design, also sports an FM radio.
The Moto W156 also is a basic phone for making calls. Inside the functional candy-bar design (just a black-and-white display; remember those?) are a speakerphone, Moto's CrystalTalk technology, and text messaging. The similarly designed Moto W160 also features an FM radio.
The Moto W206 sports a thin candy-bar design in silver, pictured here, and in black. Inside are a speakerphone, organizing features, messaging, and two included games. The identical W213 also offers an FM radio.
