Photos: Apple iPod Shuffle

As of this writing, the Apple iPod Shuffle holds the title of the world's smallest MP3 player.

The MobiBlu Cube2 is the smallest MP3 player with a screen, but the screenless Shuffle is even smaller.

It's best to always use the belt clip. The Shuffle is easy to misplace, but if you keep it clipped onto something constantly, you'll be less likely to lose it.

With the Shuffle, Apple includes a tiny syncing cradle for transferring tunes from the computer. It's cute, but we miss the first-generation Shuffle's built-in USB interface.

The Shuffle's five-way control pad is nicely laid out and satisfyingly tactile.

Apple shrank the Shuffle more than 30 percent from its first incarnation to fit it into its new, ultracompact body.

Gotta have that iconic iPod branding.

Just like a Micro Machine, the iPod Shuffle could easily be concealed in your closed fist. Don't let small children play with it; this player's definitely a choking hazard.

The Shuffle is plenty thin, but the built-in belt clip adds some girth. Two switches are housed on the bottom of the device: a power button and a shuffle/repeat key.

Unless, of course, you look like this.

If a tiny iPod is what you're after, you're sure to find a Shuffle that suits you.

But before you run out and buy one for the lady in your life, be sure she doesn't prefer black.
