Photos: 2007 Lexus LS 460L
One of the best tech cars available today, the Lexus LS 460L makes beautiful music with its stereo, keeps tabs on traffic, goes very fast, and even parks itself.
There's very little we can find at fault with the 2007 Lexus LS 460L, while it has plenty to wow us. It comes up to par with other luxury sedans in its class, then beats them all with its substantially lower price.
The LS 460L is powered by a 4.6-liter V-8 engine that produces 380 horsepower and takes the car from 0 to 60mph in 5.4 seconds.
The long-wheelbase L version of the LS 460 has plenty of leg room in the back seat.
When the LS 460L is put into reverse, its Advanced Parking Guidance System allows the driver to select a valid parking space on the LCD, and the car will steer itself into place.
The interior of the LS 460L is made up of very fine materials. Lexus says that the wood accents on the interior all come from the same tree, to prevent mismatched grain.
The car's hard drive reserves 8GB for music storage. The car can be set to automatically rip any CDs loaded into the player.
The touch screen LCD is big and bright. When a destination is set, the car offers a variety of routes.
The navigational system includes a good database of places, complete with restaurants, retail stores, gas stations, and parking lots.
The navigation can bet set to route around traffic incidents.
Traffic reporting indicates traffic flow via lines next to freeways in green, yellow, or red, with yellow icons for specific traffic incidents.
The power-adjustable steering features buttons for the audio system, the cruise control, voice command, and hill hold.
The electroluminescent gauges have a nice, refined design. The display between the speedometer and tachometer can show tire pressure, range, average fuel economy, and other information.
