Unlike some trade shows, which focus on announcing new products, Photo Plus Expo gives photographers a chance to meet with product experts so they can learn more about and provide feedback about their gear.
As you might expect, Nikon had a large presence at the show. The company's booth featured photos shot by the company's sponsored photographers and displays included the new D3 and D300 SLRs.
Olympus had all its cameras on display, but their new E3 SLR got the most attention.
X-Rite's booth featured a bank of computers so that attendees could learn how to use the company's color management system. They even brought in an instructor to take people through the process step by step.
Sony's booth included an exploded view of the Alpha DSLR-A700.
Not to be outdone by X-Rite, Datacolor had its Spyder3 color calibration system on display at the show.
SanDisk made the most of its Ducati sponsorship to showcase its ultrafast Ducati line of memory cards.
With a neat new design and colorful interchangeable covers, Shootsac garnered a lot of attention from the many female photographers at the show.
Canon's booth showed off its printers, cameras, and camcorders, but the upcoming 1Ds Mark III, and news of the company's acknowledgment of a focusing problem with the 1D Mark III were the buzz of the show.
If there's one thing you can expect from a photo trade show, it's a glass display case full of lenses, such as this display of Canon lenses.
